Fourth of July 2010

This year we decided to do the same thing we did last year. Luckily, it is totally cool! Laz parking manages a condo building in West New York, NJ that overlooks the Hudson River. This year we had a condo/balcony on the 26th floor. We could see everything! Although it was a little stressful for me (complete fear of heights!), it was a wonderful day. We had some friends from Sparta; the Wards, Eleanor, Carl, Michael, and Patricia join us which made it even better. Last year we found a women who does amazing face painting on the street corner. We found her again, and she remembered us!!!

After face painting, we headed across the street to a park that has an amazing view. It was over 100' out, so the fountain was very tempting! The next couple of pictures show part of the pre-show.

All six barges are set and ready! I love to see the line of boats ready for the show.

Joni Ward always brings candy to play the candy game. Dallin and Camryn could not wait!!! You have to roll a 7 or 11 to be able to get a piece. Then other people can steal them away. The blue peeps were the big hit with the kids-they were stolen many, many times.

The fire boats spray red, white, and blue water as part of the pre-show.

Here we go!!! I took a lot of pictures this year-don't worry I only posted the best ones. There were some unique fireworks that I tried to get on film. I think the smiley faces were one of the favorites with our group!

This is Camryn and I on the balcony. As you can see-it was very high up!!! We had a great time and look forward to next year.

  1. How FUN!!! I love your fireworks shots - GREAT JOB! Mine never come out that good. What's your secret? And that candy game could be way crazy on Mutual night!

  2. Hey Steph! I took a ton of pictures, so these are the best of the fireworks. As for the game-it is a lot of fun. Joni brought it last year and my kids could not wait to play again. It helps that her husband works for Mars.
